I am hooked on doing 5k's!!! I did my first one in September of '05, and just finished my 4th 5k. I love doing them because it's good motivation for training but going for only 3.2 and improving your time is a very doable goal!
For this 5k, I talked Marchelle into joining me, and then our friend Crystal joined us as well. We made a lot of memories- such as our race shirts that look more like nightshirts!!! We learned that going early helps you get the size shirt you want....
We had a lot of fun doing it and breast cancer research is a great cause. We all commented that whenever we saw a shirt/sign in honor of someone- we wanted to know their story. For those who had survived breast cancer, there were signs that said, "Celebrating the life of...."
At the end of the race there was water, bananas and oranges. I love fruit as much as, if not more than chocolate so I was very happy with my prize!!!
The picture is of me, cousin Marchelle and Crystal. If you haven't seen Marchelle in awhile- doesn't she look amazing???? I am so proud of her- Go Marce!!!!
