Memo Monday

Memo Monday
A few things about today.....

I knew last Thursday that 3 supervisors (they all have different roles) would be coming to observe in my classroom today.  I had a lot I wanted to get done this morning in preparation for their coming (I couldn't do it last week-I had an early childhood conference Th/Fri) I got up on time, got ready for work, got on the bus and realized I forgot my laptop.  There are days when that would not be a big deal but today was not one of those days!  Thankfully I had taken an early bus and so I had time to go home, get my laptop and catch a later bus.

I had lost about an hour of prep time but I told myself  it was OK, that I still had about a 1/2 hr prep time before school.  When I walked in the school, I stopped to check my office mailbox and saw candy and a note from the principal thanking me for doing parking lot duty this week.  Rats.  But I figured I could use the blessings!

Got to my classroom, met up with my aides and said something dramatic (after I said hello, etc of course!) like "life can be cruel sometimes!"  They were great-they listened to the story of my morning and music to my ears, said, "How can we help you so you won't be stressed?" Love them :)

And..... we scored 5's in nearly all areas of the observation, I was so proud of us and so grateful!

Had a funny experience on the playground today.... A. did not want to leave the playground to get in her car to go home.  She was throwing her whole weight against the ground and I was trying my darndest to guide her along but it was hard and she was crying and kept looking back towards the playground.  Thankuflly, my supervisor Terri was nearby, saw the situation and walked with A to the car.  Thank goodness!  When asked what was wrong, A pointed at me and tearfully said, "I don't love her!"

And getting to the title of this post.... "memo monday" There was a black and gray clothing memo today. Between me and my aides, the district supervisors and the speech language pathologist, that's 8 people, each of us were wearing some form of black and/or gray. Hilarious!  I think the memo is red for tomorrow.....
