Gratitude 3/24/14

-laughing with friends

-eating Girl Scout cookies (peanut butter tagalongs) courtesy of Emily

-gorgeous weather

-student "Anna" telling us, very seriously, "I hate to tell you this but..... I'm going to another school next year" (kindergarten) 

-listening to BYU women's basketball, 2nd round NCAA tournament vs Nebraska 

-new Instagram friends and followers!

-just feeling happy 

-bedroom floor is now vacuumed 

-found out that I DID in fact, renew my home insurance policy. I was at work, needed some info for my taxes and couldn't remember if I'd renewed it or not..... A call to the insurance office assuaged my fears 

-walking around outside without a jacket

Grateful for/that

-FaceTime with Kidds in NM. 

-hearing about the school play (music man) activity days, Disneyland in the rain, Legos, J not being able to stay out of the frame for more than a couple minutes..... Good times! :)

-eating Mom's homemade Mac & Cheese 

-visiting with uncle Russell and aunt Paula at their house

-sunshine!

-going to church with Emily

-peaceful nights sleep

Grateful for/that.....

-a drenching rainstorm

-rides with my aide, Emily

-laughing with my friends at the work training meeting

-being the "fearless leader" for a day!

-brick oven lunch

-temple session with Emily

-got some great ideas from the work training

-good hair day

-wore my new pink skirt I got from Costco yesterday

Grateful for/that.....

- shopping with mom

-got new gold pillows for the living room couch

-laughing with mom

-samples at Costco!!! Cheese spread samples. I came home with garlic herb spread. 

-got almonds and dried fruits at Costco 

-got to take dads reading glasses to him at Planning and Zoning meeting

-got a nap

-straightened my hair and LOVE the new cut straightened!

-dinner with Kerri

-ate at kneaders

-had delicious tomato basil ravioli soup

-catching up and laughing with Kerri

-a listening friend

-taking my students outside to play!!!!!!

-warm enough weather to play outside!

-not putting coats on/helping 15 children with coats

Grateful for/that....

-seeing Fiddler on the Roof with Emily and Mandy 

-love the songs from Fiddler on the Roof

-impromptu shopping trip since we had time to kill before the show started

-laughing with friends

-good seats doe the show 

-have a new favorite song, "Chava's Sequence" it's tied with "Tradition"

-good quality performance from the high school students.

-saw family members at Uncle Don's viewing 

-ended up being there at the same time as Uncle Bob, Aunt Brigitte and cousin Chris

-hugs from Aunt Geniel

-beautiful day to walk home from church

-got a visit from niece, Katie

-the Plan of Salvation and knowing death is not the end

-LOVE my new haircut

-mom picked me up from my hair appt

-got her a chocolate truffle bar she likes

-visiting with April, my stylist

-she gave me a bottle of water

-no regrets that I got 5+ inches cut off

-reading April's OK magazine while my hair color took

-bought honey wheat bread from kneaders

-Mandy's birthday party!!!

-almost forgot the cheese & sour cream I was supposed to bring..... But I didn't!!!!

-catching up & visiting with dear friends

-holding my friends baby boy

-laughing with my roommates 

-eating amazing fried dumplings!

-productive day at work

-bananas, fruit salad and m&m cookies at the salad bar for lunch

So, I'm behind a few days and I can only remember a couple things.....

Grateful for/that.....

-went to an RS activity with Mom

-feeling at home with the ladies and sisters that watched me grow up

-really, really good refreshments (girl scout cookies and tortilla roll-ups

-sharing and learning about each other and cherished items.... I brought a journal, mom brought some shells and underwater pictures from snorkeling, aunt Paula brought her apron collection

-spending time with mom

-go to wear my red shoes! Recovered from lost & found 

-small afternoon class

-work meetings got canceled

Grateful that/for

-mom drove me to UTA lost & found to reclaim my lost shoes and valentines

-everything was still in the bag!

-THOUGHT I left my wallet at lost & found (showing my id and then leaving it on the counter.... But I DIDN'T 

-stopping at arctic circle with mom for sweet potato fries

-soup & scripture night with my beehives

-laughing with them

-soup turned out

-mom shared her broccoli cheese soup mix with me

-hearing other girls favorite scriptures 

-doing parking lot duty because it means I'm a legit teacher/faculty member

-plenty of food

-dad driving me to the drugstore when I didn't feel great

-visiting with my dad

-not having to go to work

-medicine in general

• knowing I don't have to work tomorrow
• commenting on facebook statuses with Emily and I in the same room..... It's fun :)
• a good rainstorm
• cold pizza
• that the mascara came out of the red shirt I wanted to wear to church
• being taught and uplifted at church
• talking to Beck for his birthday (Grace, too) and that Jenn & Sabrina had birthday's too!
• heated home

• snuggling with Ashley & Saige in the early morning
• having breakfast with Carter, Ashley, Saige
• breakfast at Village Inn with friend Jessica
• the multi-grain pancake and country potatoes.  MMMMmmmmmm good!
• going over to my parents house to watch Olympics (Dad picked me up)
• having dinner with my parents (tuna melts with brie cheese) avocados, chips
• watching the BYU women defeat the #15 team in basketball
• watching the end of the BYU mens b-ball game. A loooong 7.2 second with lots of fouls but they pulled it off, won by 10!
• Mom giving me a ride home
• a good nap 
• a glass jar from my Mom

-valentines from Jake and Ashley (I mustache you toe be my valentine & a pic of a computer that read you're just my type)

-playing dress ups with the girls

-Jake saying many times "thanks so much for having us over"

-garlic chicken and Hawaiian pizza from Jenn. Thanks, Jenn! 

-that my roommate was able to unlock the bathroom door and let Grace and Saige out

-that girls were so calm whilst being locked in my bathroom

-holding and singing to Saige
-watching ANT farm on Netflix with the kids
-laughing with them
-filming the kids doing sleeping bag stair sliding

Seeing the ward youth participate in Thoroughly Modern Millie Jr

Seeing youth of today do great things-gives me hope for the future!

Spending time with mom, running errands

Getting storage bins to organize toys in the basement

And more but the initial blog post got erased and right now it's what I can remember..... :)
